MVC Undecided Majors Analysis Fall 2007 thru Spring 2009

MVC Undecided Majors Analysis Fall 2006 thru Spring 2008

Report Highlights:

  • In Fall 2008 and Spring 2008, 47% and 42%(respectively) of students enrolled in one or more developmental ed courses were undecided about their major, compared to 36% of students not enrolled in Dev ed who were undecided.
  • The gap is widening between the two groups this year at 11%(fall) and 9%(spring), with the previous year recording  at 2-3 percentage point difference between the two groups.
  • In every semester, Hispanic students are over represented in the undecided group with 53-56% of undecided majors being Hispanic vs representing 48-51% in our general student population.
