DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The English Department at Mountain View College includes a distinguished team of instructors who have worked together for more than twenty years. Every professor brings to our students special talents that make classes at Mountain View delightfully unique and interesting. Each instructor cares deeply about students and their success as writers and students of literature, but most importantly, each one recognizes them as individuals with various backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and experiences that will contribute to their learning and growth during their time together.

Many Mountain View College students of English leave their classes having experienced--perhaps for the first time--just how effective they really are as communicators. Many complete honors work which will distinguish their academic record for a lifetime. All students find in our courses opportunities to develop the communications skills they will need to succeed and advance in their jobs and careers and to assume vital roles as facilitators and effective leaders in their communities.
