Mission Statement:
The Education & English as a Second Language Program aligns its mission with that of the College by addressing the compensatory education programs designed to fulfill the commitment of an admission policy allowing the enrollment of disadvantaged students. The World Languages & Cultural Studies Program is committed: -To prepare students academically for college success by offering pre-curriculum courses in Developmental Reading and Developmental Writing. -To prepare students academically for college success as well as developing citizenship skills by offering a comprehensive English as a Second Language program. -To prepare students emotionally, socially, and academically for college success by offering a variety of Human Development courses. -To insure that course offerings are designed to correct the deficiencies in the education of the identified students. -To offer a variety of modes of information delivery to insure students have the assistance needed to advance in their development. Furthermore, the World Languages & Cultural Studies program will offer education courses which will allow students to begin preparation toward the goal of an instructional certificate at an area university.
