Humanities
Department Description:
Study in the Humanities is an exploration of the human experience through a review of our visual and musical arts, within the contexts of the other performing, environmental, and literary arts.  This broad interdisciplinary topic enhances our understanding the relationships among the liberal arts disciplines, and their practical applicability in every individual’s life.
Mission Statement:
If we cannot articulate what it means to be human, how can we recognize or respond to inhumanity?  Studies in the Humanities challenge us to deepen our understanding of ourselves through broadening our awareness of the people we share our spaces with.  We open the doors to varying forms of human expression so that we can open our minds to the ideas of the greater world in which we live.
