Science, Allied Health and Physical Education Division Mission Statement and more
The mission of the Science, Allied Health & Physical Education Division of Mountain View College is to fully educate, empower and equip all students with science, allied health and physical education skills necessary to compete in a global, multicultural community.
The Science, Allied Health & Physical Education Division is a division of the Mountain View Community College providing:
 
Freshman and sophomore undergraduate courses in sciences, allied health and physical education, including core and field of study curricula, that leads to degrees of associate and baccalaureate in science, allied health and physical education;
 
Technical science and/or health-related programs and technical science and/or health-related program development leading to associate degrees or certificates designed to meet local, statewide and national workforce needs;
 
Continuing education program development for scientific and health occupational upgrading or personal scientific or health enrichment;
Educational programs and P-16 partnerships designed to fulfill the scientific and health commitment of an open-door policy enabling the enrollment of students;
 
Student support services designed to assist students in achieving their scientific or health-related educational goals and foster personal growth;
 
Adult literacy, language acquisition, and other basic science and health-related basic skills programs for adults;
Community and economic scientific or health-related development programs and partnerships that add value to students and transforms communities;
 
A nursing program which is committed in preparing a caring, competent, and professional nurse who is a successful practitioner that provides holistic care to a diverse population in an urban setting,   and
 
Such other purposes as may be prescribed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) or local governing boards in the best interest of postsecondary education in Texas.
